This Tenkara rod is the light model Mr. Sakakibara, aka “Tenkara-no-Oni” with over a 35-year Tenkara career, specially chose for Tenkara aficionados.

This amazingly light rod can allow you to cast the rod for a whole day without straining your wrist.

The rod with superb “straightness” and “functionality” can present the fly pinpoint without missing even tiny spots.

Its biggest feature is that it has a solid rod tip which makes it hard for fish to detect the line tension, resulting in easy hook setting. This rod is not recommended for novices who are still inexperienced in rod handling.

These are sensitive rods for those who are decently accustomed to using Tenkara rods.

The rod can handle several types of lines ? fluorocarbon level line, tapered line and nylon level line.

The unique grip shape designed by Mr. Sakakibara himself reflects his casting theory.

It feels just right whether you grasp the round top part or the bottom part of the rod grip.

His obsession with grip and his long experience with sanding finally resulted in this shape.

Matching tippets are 7X to 3.5X (or 0.4 gou to 1.2 gou in Japanese line size). Tenkara design should be simple. Its cosmetic is also simple, made with plain black base and Oni seal along with the rod name printed on it. The winding check on the top of the grip is shiny purple.
