Light and versatile stream rod Oni Rod TYPE III, overall length: 340 cm Designed in the same manner as TYPE II, this rod is thick but its length is 3.4 meter long. The light weight of this rod enables you to enjoy fishing in beautiful mountain streams. The rod does not lose the hallmark of the Oni Rod – “straightness” and “functionality.” Despite its shorter length, it is also possible to fish larger rivers if you use a long line. This is where Mr. Sakakibara’s Tenkara design shines. Grip design is the same as both TYPE I and II, but its camouflage color expresses playfullness. The rod was designed with the idea in mind that headwater fishers probably enjoy fishing with a short rod. This rod is ideal for experienced Tenkara fishers who want a fun rod and headwater fishers who want an extra rod. This rod makes a nice present to give to your children, who may as well start Tenkara and come fishing with you! Matching tippets are 7X to 3.5X (or 0.4 gou to 1.2 gou in Japanese line size). Tenkara design should be simple. Its cosmetic is also simply made with Oni seal and plain black as the base color and the rod name printing. The same grip shape on this rod is also designed by Mr. Sakakibara. The winding check is purple.
